Female Condom Acceptability Study. UNFPA, 2014
SUMMARY
This report presents the result of a study on the acceptability of female condoms in the Caribbean country of Suriname. In 2006, the Suriname Ministry of Health through the EC/UNFPA Joint programme for Reproductive Health launched a national campaign to promote the female condom in Suriname. Since then, the UNFPA has continued to provide the FC2 to the Ministry of Health as part of its contribution to Comprehensive Condom Programming. The aim of the present study was to identify the variables impacting the use of female condoms, and present them to programme leaders and policy makers. The study combined desk research, survey work and interviews with experts from governmental, non-governmental and international organizations.
