Participatory Trainings and Workshops
At Social Solutions we realize that the reliability of data interpretation and the efficiency of information provision gain tremendously from inclusion of the ideas, perspectives and constructive criticism of the groups we are working with. We also understand that survey interviews and plain meetings often do not provide an environment where local people freely speak out and share their though ts.
We use a variety of participatory tools to create an enabling environment that promotes local participation, including gendered resource mapping, games, drawing exercises, construction of daily and seasonal calendars, the creating of problem trees and so forth.
These tools not only allow participants to discuss among themselves, but also are a fantastic aid to exposing differences in interests and viewpoints between groups that differ in gender, age, ethnic background and other socioeconomic determinants.
