Baseline study “Strengthening local community support mechanisms for indigenous women and girls in the hinterland of Suriname”.

The aim of the project is to improve the access of Indigenous women and girls to local, culture-sensitive counseling and referral in response to domestic violence. The baseline study will use focus groups, qualitative interviews and a short survey to collect data on current knowledge and perceptions of, and experiences with domestic violence, as well as about existing responses to domestic violence and support networks in indigenous villages.
